| The first question on everybody's mind is
always: What will it COST me?
The costs can be divided into three categories:
Application Service Fee This fee is a service fee associated with the application to participate in the Diversity Visa Program (lottery). This will be the only costs involved should you not be one of the lucky 80 000 - 100 000 selected winners. To see an explanation of the lottery application service charges please select the cost section.
Interview Preparation Costs There are various costs to consider during the preparation of material for your interview. You will incur costs for almost all certificates you need to apply for e.g. birth certificate, marriage certificate, police certificate etc. The costs involved should not be more than about $30 and is an estimate to the best of our judgment and experience, as it will differ from country to country.
Visa Processing Fee If you where one of the winners, completed the immigration application forms that was included with the winning letter and returned them to the State Department on time, you can expect to receive a interview date. When attending the interview at the US embassy on the day of your appointment, each applicant will have to pay all fees required in connection with applying for a diversity visa, approximately $350 US. (was $335 in 2000)
An additional visa issuance fee of approximately $100 US (was $65 in 2000) will also have to be paid by each applicant whose application is approved.
Please note that these fees are determined by the US State Departments and can change without notice. |
